I'm Blessed

Lately I have been feeling very ho hum about life in general. There have been bumps in the road with my job, my husbands job, finances, you name it insert speed bump here. Through those bumps I realize how blessed I am. I'm blessed to have friends like all of you who care and are supportive. I'm blessed to have a close relationship with my mother after years of never seeing eye to eye and times I am quite sure I was a pain in more ways than one. I'm blessed to have a father who still thinks of me as his little girl. I'm blessed to have a husband that loves me despite my many moods. I'm blessed to have quilt friends who are as obsessed with fabric as I am and who are willing to share their good deals. I'm blessed to have fellow bulldog moms who offer advice and understanding of how stubborn they can be. I'm blessed in so many ways.

Lately I have also been lucky enough to find some very hard to find out of print fabrics. I have great friends who have willingly shared secret locations even offered parts of their stash for me. I know that through the next year as I participate in bees with some of you and blog with some of you I am going to be blessed beyond measure. And because I am blessed I want to share some of my good fortune with you. Last week thanks to Mary I was able to purchase my favorite Flea Market Fancy Print ever. And so I decided that I am going to host my first giveaway. I am giving away a fat quarter of this FMF print along with a few other goodies. All you have to do is leave a comment. Let me know how you found my blog and if this is your first visit or if you are a returning guest. Easy as that no need to become a follower or repost this to your own blog. Though I won't argue if you want to share about my humble space with your friends. I'm going to leave the comments open until Saturday morning and will announce the winner shortly after.

Please please be sure you are not set as a noreply comment. I want to respond to all of you and of course I want to be able to let you know if you are the winner. I've had several of these already so please double check your profiles.

  1. Congrats on finding the Flea Market Fancy! I have a local surplus and salvage store that every now and again turns up something fabulous at superlow prices; it's so fun to dig through and see what I find!
I found your blog through your link on the Old Red Barn Co flickr page; I have enjoyed that group so much! Best wishes with your quilting endeavors and thanks for the chance at your giveaway!

  5. What a nice uplifting post. You made me think about all the blessings I have in my life, despite the occasional bump. Thanks ... I needed that! I found your blog because we're quilting buddies over on the Old Red Barn flickr site and I'm a follower. I LOVE your cool site graphics. I'm pretty new to blogging so I'm just figuring out this new world.

    Thanks for the fun giveaway!

  6. It's hard to find adequate words to express the depth of satisfaction I have found in belonging to this wonderful world of online quilters. Many nights after turning out the lights, when I'm supposed to get to sleep, my mind will not rest, but instead pictures color schemes, quilting designs, and more . . . it takes a conscious effort to stay in bed because if I got up and returned to sewing it might be 3am before I stopped and that would not be fair to the 8am-5pm commitment. Having this interest in quilting and fabric and sharing it with like-minded others like you helps cushion the bumps in the road.

  7. What a nice way to pay it forward! I've been to your site before, and I'm sure I'll be back. It's so nice to read about other fabric-addicts - I think ours is one of the safer, friendlier addictions out there...

  9. As a new quilter, and someone also struggling with job/money/etc., I am also trying to be thankful and realize how lucky I am. I already value the connections we're making through the amazing worlds of quilting and virtual bees. I look forward to our crafty year ahead. :)

  20. Hi Greta loveley to read your post today and all the comments from like minded fabric addicts. I know you from our modern traditional quilt bee and I am a follower of your blog. I especially can relate to Mary's comments and I too spend many a sleepless night planning and designing virtual quilts not daring to get up and start sewing otherwise I would never get to sleep and be ready for work in the morning. How kind of you to do a give away. I will be back to catch up with your blog soon.

  24. We've been counting our blessing recently, also. My husband returned to work this week after being on disability leave since mid-August. His health is finally on the upswing. Now I just need to stop worrying about him so much.

Thank you for hosting this sweet giveaway. I've only seen FMF in pictures.

I found your blog through your posts on Flickr. First (I think) at the ORBC Secret Santa Swap (have you broken any postal machines lately?) and then at the Quilting Bee Blocks group when you posted your orange, pink and white block. I loved that first block with the white X inside the orange square.

I'm not sure how to set the reply thing you mentioned.
